There are moments in your life when you meet a person who has such innate goodness you feel you've become better yourself just by knowing them. My father, Irving M. Gorbach, was one of these people.

He was born in 1917 and taken from us by colon cancer at the all-too-young age of 67. In those few years, he touched so many lives in so many ways that I felt compelled to start this foundation in his honor.

In the coming years, we will be sponsoring awards, scholarships, prizes and other programs to promote the qualities he personified: Integrity and Kindness as well as the issues that mattered most to him: Health, Patriotism, Religion and, above all, Family.

These programs will be named after our loved ones and to others who have touched our lives in a positive way.

We look forward to the adventure ahead.
